Prepare the words that will be spoken
Start by writing the narration as spoken sentences. Read each line aloud and trim filler words. Keep sentences short enough to fit the intended visual pacing.
Match narration to a visual plan
Assign a visual purpose to every line. A line introducing a topic might pair with a title card, while a line describing a step might pair with a screen recording or diagram. Write the purpose next to the line so the pairing stays visible during editing.
Create and review the narrated draft
Create the video draft in the RavenCut workflow. Scene review before rendering and uploading to a connected YouTube channel are selectable workflow options, so enable them if you want to inspect the draft before it goes live. The workflow supports 9:16 Shorts and 16:9 long-form videos; free accounts are limited to Shorts.
Check pronunciation and captions
Play the draft back and listen for mispronounced names or technical terms. Read the captions aloud to confirm they match the spoken words. Fix any mismatch before finalizing.
Worked example: original episode opening
The following example is a hypothetical scenario created for this guide. It is not a real customer result.
Before
"Welcome to today's video where we are going to be talking about how to make a voice over video from your narration notes. So first of all you want to prepare your script and then you want to match it to visuals and then you want to review it."
After
"Today we turn narration notes into a voice-over video. First, prepare the spoken script. Second, pair each line with a visual purpose. Third, review the draft before rendering."
Explanation
The revised version removes filler, states the topic in one sentence, and lists the three steps as separate lines. Each line now has a clear visual purpose: the title line pairs with a title card, the step lines pair with numbered graphics.
